New Locations to buy Arethusa Farm Milk!

"The Bantam Firehouse on Route 202 in Bantam, CT will be the home of Arethusa Farm Dairy! The building was purchased in December and plans are underway to create a processing plant and retail space. This will allow for expansion of our product line. Watch for information about our projected opening." Click here for photos.

Arethusa Farm was honored by Dairy One with the 2008 Milk Quality Award: The six Dairy One herds with the lowest SCC for the year were recognized recently at the annual meeting of Dairylea Cooperative. This is a tremendous achievement for herdspersons Shannon Dwyer and Katie Kearns and the team in the milk barn. Their dedication to cow-care made this possible!!

Welcome to our web site introducing what we think is the best tasting milk to be found. Our cows are treated like ladies, constantly groomed and cleaned. They receive an unprecedented amount of care and comfort that results in a level of quality that is rare in today's dairy products.

Produced locally at our farm in Litchfield, CT and processed and bottled at Fish Family Farm (www.fishfamilyfarm.com) in Bolton, CT.

Special Note: Our milk is NOT being sold at the farm and farm tours are ONLY by appointment, however we do open the milk barn (556 South Plains Road) to the public from 1:30-3:00pm on Saturday afternoons.

The rolling pastures of the Litchfield Hills offer the ideal setting for Arethusa Farm Dairy’s purebred Jerseys and Holsteins to thrive and produce better-tasting, fresh-from-the-farm milk.  Our verdant pastures, bordered by beautiful stone walls and white fences, allow our cows to comfortably graze and benefit from outdoor exercise.

The comfort of our animals comes first at Arethusa Farm. Our milking barn’s sign says it all: “Every cow in this barn is a lady; please treat her as such.” The many barns at Arethusa Farm are both traditionally designed and functionally modern in order to cater to each cow’s particular needs.  Cleanliness is paramount and ensures the creation of Arethusa Farm Dairy’s high-quality, natural milk from award-winning cows.

Special Note: Our milk is NOT being sold at the farm and farm tours are ONLY by appointment or on Saturdays from 1:30pm to 3:00pm.
